Adrienne Shelly

Adrienne Shelly was a multifaceted American film professional, active in the industry as an actress, director, and screenwriter. Her career in film began to take shape with notable roles in independent cinema, most prominently in Hal Hartley's films The Unbelievable Truth and Trust, released in 1989 and 1990, respectively. These early performances showcased her talent and helped establish her presence in the independent film scene.

Shelly's versatility and creativity extended beyond acting, as she also explored writing and directing. One of her most significant projects was the film Waitress, in which she was involved as a writer, director, and co-star. Although the film was released in 2007, it was completed before her death in 2006.
