Jean Schwartz

Jean Schwartz was a Hungarian-American composer and pianist, born in 1878. He made significant contributions to the music field, particularly in the realm of Broadway musicals, for which he wrote scores for over 30 productions. In addition to his work in musical theater, Schwartz was a prolific creator of popular songs, collaborating with lyricist William Jerome to produce more than 1,000 songs.

Schwartz's career also extended to the vaudeville stage, where he performed alongside Jerome, as well as Maude Nugent, Jerome's wife, and the Dolly Sisters. His personal life intersected with his professional circle, as he was married to Jenny Dolly from 1913 to 1921. Schwartz passed away in 1956, leaving behind a legacy as a prominent composer and pianist of his time. His collaborations and performances continue to be notable aspects of his enduring impact on the music industry.
