Hermetic Brotherhood of Luxor

Organisation

The Hermetic Brotherhood of Luxor was an initiatic occult organization that emerged into public awareness in late 1894. Although its initial public presence was noted in this year, the organization's origins reportedly date back to 1870, as stated in an official document authored by Peter Davidson. This document provides insight into the order's foundational history, highlighting the pivotal role of its founder.

Max Théon is credited with establishing the Hermetic Brotherhood of Luxor, as indicated in the official document. Notably, Théon's own initiation into the mysteries of the order occurred while he was in England, where he was received as a Neophyte by an adept of the ancient and serene Order of the original H. B. of L. This event marked a significant milestone in Théon's spiritual journey and laid the groundwork for the development of the Hermetic Brotherhood of Luxor under his guidance.
