Nalini Nadkarni

Nalini Nadkarni is a prominent American ecologist specializing in the field of biology. Her work has primarily focused on the study of forest ecosystems, with a particular emphasis on the canopies of rain forests. As a leading researcher in her field, Nadkarni has made significant contributions to the understanding of these complex environments.

Nadkarni's groundbreaking research in Costa Rican rain forests has been a hallmark of her career. In 1981, she conducted her first inventory of the canopy, employing innovative methods that included the use of mountain climbing equipment to ascend into the canopy.
