Nalini Nadkarni
US-amerikanische Biologin
Nalini Nadkarni is a prominent American ecologist specializing in the field of biology. Her work has primarily focused on the study of forest ecosystems, with a particular emphasis on the canopies of rain forests. As a leading researcher in her field, Nadkarni has made significant contributions to the understanding of these complex environments.
Nadkarni's groundbreaking research in Costa Rican rain forests has been a hallmark of her career. In 1981, she conducted her first inventory of the canopy, employing innovative methods that included the use of mountain climbing equipment to ascend into the canopy. This initial study was followed by two additional inventories in 1984, further expanding her knowledge of this previously understudied ecosystem. Through her pioneering work, Nadkarni has greatly advanced the field of forest ecology and continues to be a respected figure in the scientific community.
