Al Shean

Al Shean was a German-American comedian who made a lasting impact in the entertainment industry. Born in 1868 as Abraham Elieser Adolph Schönberg, with some sources also referring to him as Adolf, Albert, or Alfred Schönberg, he would go on to build a successful career in vaudeville and film. As a performer, Shean's talents led him to form a notable partnership, one that would become a hallmark of his professional life.

Shean's most enduring legacy is as half of the vaudeville duo Gallagher and Shean, a team that brought laughter and joy to audiences. Additionally, he held a special place in the history of comedy as the uncle of the Marx Brothers, a family of comedians who would themselves become legends in the world of entertainment.
