Volin was a Russian anarchist and historian, born in 1882. His real name was Vsevolod Mikhailovich Eikhenbaum, but he is more commonly known by his pseudonym. Initially, he was involved in revolutionary socialist politics, which led to his participation in the 1905 Russian Revolution. As a result of his activism, Volin was forced into exile, marking a significant turning point in his life and intellectual pursuits.
